Tragic Accident Claims the Life of William Schweigen in Idaho

In a devastating accident in Idaho, a young life was tragically cut short. On early Monday morning, a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 15 near mile marker 99 claimed the life of 17-year-old William Schweigen from Salt Lake City, Utah.

According to the Idaho State Police, the accident occurred around 12:25 a.m. when a vehicle occupied by three juveniles was traveling northbound on I-15. The vehicle left the right shoulder, crossed back over the northbound lanes, left the median shoulder, and rolled onto the southbound lanes.

A 2022 Ram Promaster, driven by a 65-year-old man from Idaho Falls, was traveling southbound and collided with the overturned car.

Tragically, one of the juveniles, William Schweigen, lost their life in the crash. The two surviving juveniles were transported to a nearby hospital via ambulance. It was reported that none of the three juveniles were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

The driver of the Ram Promaster was also taken to a local hospital but was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The southbound lanes of I-15 from milepost 108 to 99 were blocked for approximately three and a half hours as a result of the accident.

Police are currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of this tragic crash.
