Greg Hogan (born May 15, 1985), better known by his stage name Frenchie, is an American rapper from South Jamaica, Queens, New York. He was in Gucci Mane ‘s 1017 Brick Squad and Waka Flocka Flame ‘s Brick Squad Monopoly.
Frenchie’s got a history as a killer-for-hire — and those jobs, and the human faces behind them, have always stayed with him, like scars. That year Waka Flocka Flame would go on to form Brick Squad Monopoly with Frenchie as one of the original members. He released his eighth mixtape Bringing Gangsta Back on June 25 and his ninth mixtape Concrete Jungle on October 17. In December 2011, fellow BSM member Slim Dunkin was shot to death during an altercation.
When did Frenchie join Protekted?
On September 9, 2014, Frenchie announced he was joining Protekted Records, an independent label he helped found with Karen Fraiberg and Jon Gornbein. Under the new management, he would go on to release his fifteenth mixtape on September 16 entitled Fukk Fame. That year, he released the single Ain’t Goin Nowhere, featuring B.o.B and Chanel West Coast, which peaked at #29 on Mediabase urban charts. In 2015, Frenchie released a collaborative mixtape entitled Phil Jackson with his Artist rapper/producer Jusjoose on November 8. His seventeenth mixtape Chicken Room 2 came out in 2015.
Frenchie hails from a musical family background with several of his relatives in the industry. His cousin Bimmy was an A&R for Def Jam Recordings while his uncle from his father’s side DJ Hurricane worked with the Beastie Boys. His cousin/aunt Debra Antney was manager to Southern rappers Gucci Mane and OJ da Juiceman. Frenchie began rapping when he was 19 years old, and would go on to record his first professionally produced track “Shirt Off” in late 2008. Prior to the record, he had appeared in various “street DVDs” performing freestyles and cyphers.
During a trip to Atlanta to attend a family reunion, Frenchie’s aunt Debra Antney had introduced him to rapper Gucci Mane who then signed him to his So Icey Entertainment. The song “Shirt Off” from Gucci Mane’s The Movie mixtape released in September 2008 – which featured Frenchie, Wooh Da Kid and OJ da Juiceman as ” So Icey Boyz ” – would be Frenchie’s breakout track becoming a hit on Atlanta radio. Since then, he had been managed by Debra Antney’s Mizay Entertainment.
Why did Frenchie abandon his position?
Hesitantly, Frenchie abandoned his position in order to go help Jay. Frenchie was successful in saving Jay, however, when he returned to the party, Lamplighter was gone. Frenchie would later find out that Lamplighter burned Mallory’s grandchildren to ash.
Frenchie being recruited by Mallory. While Serge was in custody, he was approached by Grace Mallory who was impressed by his abilities to make weapons and gadgets that counter a supe’s power. Mallory offered him a choice, either rot for in a prison for 25 years, or come to work for her.
Mallory proceeded to blackmail Lamplighter into being their informant and feed them information about The Seven. Lamplighter reluctantly agreed, however, Mallory was suspicious of him and asked Frenchie to follow Lamplighter. “My, uh.. my best friend OD’d and I left to save him that night. Why I didn’t stop you.
Frenchie’s father was killed in the resulting crash, while his mother died a short time later from grief. Blaming himself for his parents’ deaths, Frenchie killed Black Pierre in revenge and left the village. He was recruited by Butcher about a year later.
To add insult to injury, Frenchie would never see his friend Jay again due to his death from another overdose a few months later. Frenchie never told anyone why he “let” Lamplighter go, causing a rift between him and M.M.’s relationship after The Boys were disbanded.

In 2015, Serge, now primarily referred to by his nickname “Frenchie”, was a full fledged member of The Boys alongside Grace Mallory, Billy Butcher, and Mother’s Milk. While waiting in an abandoned warehouse for Lamplighter to arrive, Frenchie and Mallory congratulated M.M. for proposing to Monique.
