Motorcycle crash on Sunshine Skyway bridge kills 3 daughters of the chief brewer, according to the company.
According to business owner Mike Harting, the fatal accident on the Sunshine Skyway bridge on Thursday morning claimed the life of the chief brewer at St. Petersburg’s well-known 3 Daughters Brewing.
The 50-year-old motorcycle rider who was killed in the collision, which happened at around 9:15 a.m. in the northbound lanes, has not been identified by the Florida Highway Patrol. Ty Weaver, according to Harting.
Ty was a unique individual with unmatched talent, commitment, and passion for the craft of brewing, according to a statement Harting sent to the Times.
“His friends and the local 3 Daughters community will mourn him terribly. We humbly request that his family be allowed some privacy during this trying period.
The motorcycle rider “separated from the motorcycle” and was “overrun” by a tractor-trailer, the Highway Patrol reported in a news release. According to troopers, the collision occurred after the driver of an SUV slowed down for traffic on the bridge and was hit from behind by the motorcycle rider.
According to troopers, neither the 57-year-old Columbus, Florida, tractor-trailer driver nor the 55-year-old Wimauma lady driving the SUV were hurt in the collision.
Additionally, the Highway Patrol withheld their identities.
