Biography:

Samantha Mathis was born on May 12, 1970 in Manhattan, New York. She moved to Los Angeles with her mother at the age of five, and decided to become an actress when she was 12.

Her acting debut was in the 1988 television film Circle of Love. She also co-starred in the television shows Aaron’s Way and Knight’s Watch from 1988 to 1989.

The following year, she made her first starring role in the film Pump Up the Volume opposite Christian Slater. She has since appeared in other films, including The Thing Called Love, Jack and Sarah, Little Women and American Psycho, among others.
