Biography:
Rosie Pérez was born on September 6, 1964 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York. She was discovered by Spike Lee in 1988 while at a dance club. He then hired her in her first acting job in the film Do the Right Thing.
She went on to use her dancing skills in the variety show Soul Train. She later worked as a choreographer for such artists as Janet Jackson, Bobby Brown, Diana Ross, LL Cool J and The Boys.
In 1993, she starred as Perdita Durango in the film Fearless. Her work in this film earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
