A suspected stalker broke into the Redmond, Washington, home of a podcaster and her husband at 1:45 a.m. on Friday and fatally shot both of them.
Ramin Khodakaramrezaei, 38, the stalking suspect, was also discovered dead in the home.

The mother of the female victim escaped and called police from a neighbor’s house after hearing gunshots, and when Redmond police arrived, they found three people dead inside the house.

Officers arrived to find a male resident of the residence lying in the front yard, shot in the chest. Although police attempted CPR, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The bodies of Khodakaramrezaei and his wife, who had been the target of the suspect’s stalking, were discovered in the master bedroom. On Friday, Redmond Police Chief Darrell Lowe told reporters that the suspect had apparently shot himself in the head.

According to Lowe, the intruder entered the home through the mother’s bedroom window. According to the chief, the mother and suspect got into an argument before the mother ran to a neighbor’s house and called the police.

Since a stalking investigation was already underway, police were already familiar with the victim and the residence.

According to reports, Khodakaramrezaei contacted the female victim after listening to her podcasts. “The victim and suspect became friends, but when things escalated, she filed a no-contact order against him,” Redmond Police said in a press release on Friday.

According to Lowe, the woman and Khodakaramrezaei met for the first time on the dating app Clubhouse. He claimed that she told police that Khodakaramrezaei had made more than a hundred contacts with her in a single day.

No victims were named by Lowe, but the protective order lists a woman named Zohreh Sadeghi as the petitioner. She said, “[Mr. Khodakaramrezaei] has said many times that nothing short of his own death would make him leave me alone,” in the order.

According to Lowe, the police were making an effort to track down and apprehend Khodakaramrezaei, a long-haul truck driver originally from Texas, in order to serve him with a protection order petition. However, it was proving difficult to do so, as Khodakaramrezaei’s job required him to frequently relocate to different states.
The issuance of a restraining order “is merely a piece of paper that allows officers to take enforcement action should the suspect violate the court order.” However, Lowe pointed out that paper cannot prevent harm if the aggressor has malicious intentions.

The family had taken precautions, but this was “the absolute worst outcome,” according to the police chief.
