According to officials, a man has been detained on suspicion of fatally shooting a woman this week in Jackson, New Hampshire.
According to state, municipal, and law enforcement officials as well as the New Hampshire Department of Justice, Brandon Mitchell, 21, was detained on suspicion of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Esmae Doucette, 23, on Wednesday at the Dana Place Apartments on Route 16 in Jackson.
Around 7:24 p.m. on Wednesday, the police were summoned to the incident, and Doucette was discovered suffering from a gunshot wound. Officials reported that she passed away on Friday at a North Conway hospital.
Doucette’s death was deemed a homicide after an autopsy revealed she had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
According to investigators, Mitchell was detained following her passing and is scheduled to appear in Carroll County Superior Court on Monday for an arraignment. It wasn’t immediately obvious if he had a lawyer who could comment on the accusation. He’s being detained without bond at the moment.
