Nellis Death Ruled Homicide; Authorities Advise Caution on Bike Trails

It has been determined that Marcy Suzette Nellis, a 75-year-old resident of Oil City, was murdered. Her body was found on the bike path on Monday.

Authorities urge users of the bike paths to use caution.

The news was made in a statement released on Wednesday night by Oil City Police Chief David Ragon, Coroner Christina Rugh, and Venango County District Attorney Shawn White.

Authorities were called to the Oil City bike path between Osbourne Street and Mineral Street in the early hours of March 27 after Nellis’ death was discovered there.

In order to conduct a comprehensive investigation, members of the Oil City Police Department, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Venango County District Attorney’s Office hurriedly arrived at the scene, according to the statement.

Police said the collision took place close to Cook School Road.

According to the police, Patrick Dannemiller passed away in the collision, and the other motorist was hospitalized with critical injuries.

The roadway is open after the collision, according to roadway Patrol.
