After her daughter passed away in December while giving birth, a Detroit grandma has been caring for her 12 grandkids.
When Nakita Washington passed away at Harper University Hospital while giving birth to her son Nathaniel, she was just 35 years old.
They are struggling. They have both good and terrible days, according to Washington’s mother Patricia Bouncey.
The results of the autopsy are still pending for the family.
“I want to know if she passed away naturally. I want to know whether any of those doctors did anything, too,” Bouncey added. “I’m offended and perplexed.
The Detroit Medical Center issued a statement expressing sympathy but stating that they are unable to discuss this situation owing to patient privacy rules.
Bouncey is working and raising the kids while she waits for answers.
