In the vicinity of Charters Towers, at Reid River, police received a missing person complaint for a 38-year-old lady.
According to preliminary evidence, Rikki Leigh Mitchell (pictured) was last seen on May 1 at around 4 p.m. at a rest area on the Flinders Highway.
Since her absence was unexpected and she hasn’t been in touch since, police and her family are gravely worried about her welfare.
This morning, police began searching the area along the Flinders Highway with the help of SES volunteers and the QGAir helicopter.

According to descriptions, Rikki is a Caucasian woman with an olive complexion, stands about 165 cm tall, has a proportionate body, and has brown hair. She was last seen with green thongs, black singlet top, and dark blue denim shorts on.
