Mahrokh Khan Died In a Deadly Car Accident,VCU student

According to university officials, a student from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Mahrokh Khan  died while crossing a street on the main campus of the institution on Friday morning.

In a joint statement, VCU Police Chief John Venuti and Vice President for Student Affairs Aaron J. Hart expressed their “deep grief” at the passing of student Mahrokh Khan.

Just before 9 a.m., Mahrokh was struck by a car as he crossed the street near the intersection of Laurel and West Main streets, which is close to the Gladding Residence Center, the Altria Theater, and Monroe Park.

Officials reported that after being transferred to VCU Medical Center, the student was eventually declared dead.

Richmond Police are “currently investigating,” according to Hart and Venuti.
