Biography:
Lotte Verbeek was born on 24 June 1982 in Venlo, Netherlands. She attended Theaterschool in Amsterdam and graduated in 2008. She is also a trained dancer. Initially, she started acting in her native Netherlands in the mid-2000s, appearing in the films Moes (2006) and LEFT (2007. For her starring role in the movie Nothing Personal, she won Best Actress at the Locarno International Film Festival.
In the 2010s, she gained wider recognition for her role as Giulia Farnese on the Showtime series The Borgias. At the same time, she starred in the British feature Suspension of Disbelief. Following this, she played Geillis Duncan on the Starz series Outlander, a role she currently plays up to present. She later had roles in the films The Fault in Our Stars and The Last Witch Hunter.
