Taylor Phinney is an American retired professional road racing cyclist. He rode professionally between 2009 and 2019 for the Trek–Livestrong, BMC Racing Team, and EF Education First teams.
Phinney was born to Davis Phinney and Connie Carpenter-Pinney. His father is a former professional road cyclist and Olympic medal-winner.
His mother is former Olympic gold medal-winning cyclist and speed skater Connie Carpenter-Phinney.
His career began in 2007 at the age of 16, when he began racing on Team Slipstream’s junior squad.
After a career spanning over a decade, he announced his retirement from professional racing at the end of the 2019 season. The reason for his retirement was the ongoing effects of an injury he suffered in 2014.
