While crossing a congested highway, a pickup vehicle struck and killed a man from the Hudson Valley.
On Tuesday, March 28, at around 2:00 p.m., a collision occurred on New Hackensack Road (Route 376) east of Boardman Road in the municipality of Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County.
A 57-year-old Poughkeepsie man was hit by a 2018 Ford F-150 being driven by a 72-year-old Poughkeepsie man, according to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police.
The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital with severe injuries, where doctors later declared him dead, according to the police.
Members of the Arlington Fire Department, Mobile Life Support Services, and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office provided assistance to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department on the site.
Derek Moss was a very active member of the Space Coast Gator Club and was selected as its next president. He tragically passed away as a result of a motorcycle accident. The club would like to honor him with a scholarship in Derek’s name. In lieu of flowers, any contributions would be greatly appreciated to fund a scholarship in honor of Derek.
