Amin Mekki Medani was a Sudanese diplomat, lawyer, political and human rights activist. He is remembered for his service as the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs from 1985 to 1986. In 1991, he won the Human Rights Watch Award and the American Bar Association Human Rights Award. In 2013, Amin Mekki Medani received the European Union Human Rights Award.
