Dr. Logan Hubbard, MD – Orange, CA

I am an MD/PhD candidate currently in my final year of training in the University of California Irvine's Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). My present goal is to obtain a research-focused diagnostic radiology residency position, and my future goal is to pursue an academic career as a physician-scientist.

Completing both my undergraduate and doctoral degrees in biomedical engineering with specialization in cardiovascular angiography and perfusion imaging, I have a passion for radiological science. Namely, my research aims to address the unmet clinical need for combined morphological and physiological assessment of coronary artery disease (CAD). To date, my work has developed, validated, and clinically translated an accurate, low-dose, comprehensive cardiac CT technique based on first-pass analysis (FPA).

The comprehensive cardiac CT technique can accurately assess vessel-specific stress and rest perfusion, while simultaneously providing cardiac functional analysis (CFA), CT angiography, and coronary flow reserve (CFR), respectively. Thus, morphological and physiological assessment of CAD is feasible using a single low-dose exam, making comprehensive CT-based assessment of multiform CAD more accurate, accessible, and impactful to patients in need.
