Chicago, IL (August 6, 2023) – The Chicago Fire Department mourns the loss of one of its own, Darren Verderber, who passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at the age of 50. Darren dedicated his life to serving the community through his role in the fire department.
A visitation to honor Darren’s memory will take place on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at the Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, located at 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Friends, family, and colleagues are invited to pay their respects during this time.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, starting at 10:00am at St. Linus Catholic Church, situated at 10300 Lawler Ave., Oak Lawn, IL 60453. The church ceremony will provide an opportunity for loved ones to gather and commemorate Darren’s life and contributions.
At this time, the interment will be held privately, allowing close family and friends to bid a personal farewell.
