On Monday, counselors visited Park High School in Cottage Grove to talk to kids who were distressed by the news that a staff member had perished in a violent one-car collision early on FridayAccording to police, Corbin Buss, 27, of Cottage Grove, passed away at the site of the 1 a.m. collision in the 8400 block of East Point Douglas Road.Buss attended the high school as a Promise Fellow. Mentoring, facilitating service learning, and organizing extracurricular activities are all responsibilities of Promise Fellows. According to a school official, Buss attended and provided support for up to two courses per day and had a caseload of 30 pupils at Park.Our school is devastated by this loss, and our thoughts are with his family. Buss’ fiancee, Sydney Tobash, described him as a wonderful father and man who had a dream of becoming a therapist to assist “kids in need.” She said the couple got engaged on Mother’s Day and their son, Arthur, was born in February.Buss supported his young family by working two jobs, and according to a post on the fundraising website GoFundMe, he “was always there for anyone who needed someone.” “Everyone adored him, including his coworkers from all of his jobs. He was extremely wise and intelligent. He had such a strong sense of passion for everything. He was very devoted to his comic books.She wrote that the couple had recently relocated to Cottage Grove “to start our new life.” “Life was amazing, and everything was wonderful. Now, life is really difficult for us. The longer (Arthur) waits for his father to return, the less he will remember him. When police and firefighters got at the scene of the collision just after one in the morning on Friday, they discovered a 2016 Dodge Challenger that had flipped and was completely engulfed in flames.According to the police, Jeffrey Pariseau, 33, of Cottage Grove, who was a passenger on the bus, was taken with non-life-threatening injuries to Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury.Thanks for reading from Ghsplash a news publishing website from Ghana.
