The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office has identified the three people discovered shot to death inside a Fish Lake Township home on Sunday.
According to a sheriff’s office news release, deputies found the bodies of Kirk Patrick Mattson, 47, Denise Lillian Mattson, 68, and Darrell James Mattson, 73, in their Brunswick Road home around 8 a.m. on Sunday.
According to the press release, the shooting weapon was not discovered at the residence.
On Saturday, a person of interest in the Mattsons’ shootings was discovered dead in a different place; however, authorities have not yet revealed their name.
There is no evidence to suggest that there is a continuing threat to public safety, according to investigators, who do not think the shootings were random.
The person of interest’s identity, along with the cause and manner of their death, will be published by the Hennepin County medical examiner.
The matter is being looked into by the sheriff’s office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
