Biography:
Charlize Theron was born on August 7, 1975 in Gauteng, South Africa. She got an education as a ballet dancer and traveled to USA where she attended the Joffrey Ballet School in New York until a knee injury put a halt to her dancing career.
She went to Los Angeles to try a career in the movie industry. Her first film part was a non-speaking role in the direct-to-video film Children of the Corn III.
Her career skyrocketed with the box-office success The Devil’s Advocate. In 2003, she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Monster.
