Carrie Underwood was born on March 10, 1983 in Checotah, Oklahoma, USA. She rose to fame in 2005 when she won in the fourth season of American Idol.
She released her debut album, Some Hearts, also in 2005, and it became the fastest selling debut country album in Nielsen SoundScan history.
She has since become a multi-platinum selling recording artist. She has won six Grammy awards, sixteen Billboard Music Awards, seven American Music Awards and ten Academy of Country Music Awards.
As a songwriter, she has also received a nomination for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.
