Biography:

Annie Murphy was born on December 19, 1986 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She attended Concordia University where she studied theater performance. At age 22, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. In 2007, she made her debut in the television movie Lethal Obsession. The following year, she had her first movie role in the independent film Story of Jen.

She next appeared in an episode of The Beautiful Life: TBL. In the 2010s, Murphy had guest appearances in such shows as Blue Mountain State, Against the Wall, Beauty & the Beast, Good God, and Rookie Blue. After acting in the series The Plateaus, she gained recognition for her role as Alexis Rose in the Canadian sitcom Schitt’s Creek. For her role, she received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
